Objective and Key Results (OKR):

OKR, also known as "Objective and Key Results" is a term used to describe how a team tracks its progress and encourages growth around the goals they set. This method breaks down a company's goals into two parts: the objective they want to achieve, and the results of meeting that objective.

Using the OKR method, teams communicate what they want to accomplish and what they’ll need to do in order to meet those goals. Oftentimes, these goals are challenging and the results can be measured accurately.

Below is an example of an OKR:

Objective:

  • Ensure company meets revenue target

Key Results:

  • Increase sales from $25k to $45k per month
  • Gain 400 new marketing leads
  • Implement the new account based marketing process

As you can see, the objective is clear and the results are measurable so the team can determine whether or not they met their goals.
